Challenges :

The wharf of Laâyoune is one of the two longest in the world, designed to meet the export needs of phosphates from the Boucraâ mine.

In light of the increasing demand and traffic recorded at the port of Laayoune in recent years, OCP has decided to launch a port expansion project that is currently underway, opening up new development prospects.

Scope :

  • Conducting maneuverability and mooring studies to establish the optimal mooring configuration for the project vessels
  • Definition of the operational limits (waves, currents, and winds) of the phosphate wharf
  • Detailed design of the mooring structures (dolphins) and quay equipment
